Shopping, people do not wait in line. They bounce into one another and don't even notice. Avoid shopping on cloudy / raining days. Have your bags ready when you go shopping. Bring change everywhere. Have different credit cards, sometimes they work, sometimes they don't. Don't let gas get low in the rental car, there are no attendants. Most businesses close for lunch. Shops close at noon on Sunday.

French license plates have numbers identifying the area. You will never drive fast enough and they will ride your ass no matter how fast you go. Just turn on your blinker, slowdown and slightly pull over. They'll pass and wave and you'll be happier. France has great road and pedestrian signs. Look up, take a breath and read the signs.

"I would like ........." "Do you speak english"? "Where is ......? Please, Thank You and Excuse Me. Your four basic proteins. "Poulet, Du Boeuf, Jambon, Poisson and you'll travel like a pro!!!!
